Did You See What You Wanted To See? - Michigan edition

Obviously, only one thing matters...we beat that team up north. But let's see how accurate we were in our calls for the final regular season game;

Jeff at The BBC

The new hero - I was looking for the next Troy Smith, someone who stood up and became a man in The Game. Someone who would send shivers down the spine of UM fans next November, recalling the terror they witnessed the previous year. We found it. It's known as "our entire running game". By the way, Michigan fans....there are no graduating seniors who even TOUCHED the ball for us on Saturday. Unless you count Kurt Coleman. He touched the ball twice, thanks very much.

The big play - We added to the list of plays that went for 20+ yards this season. We still dominate the top of the list, that's for sure.

Five plays went for 20+ yards on Saturday. Michigan's Ray Roundtree led the way with a 43-yard reception. Greg Mathews had the Wolverines only other 20+ play, a 23-yard reception. For the Buckeyes, Saine had a 29-yard run, Herron had a 23-yard run, and Pryor had a 25-yard run.

Continuation - The countdown clock still exists to the right, everyone. We're OVER 6 years now. And for the record, it's a road game for Michigan next year. Rich Rodriquez's record in road games as Michigan's head coach??

1-8.

Blowout/vs close game - Well, it was close. But I'll be honest...the Michigan fans who are proudly stating that Rich Rodriquez still has his job, unquestioned....they wouldn't be doing that if we had won by 30 points. I think Tressel laid up, knowing they'd can his ass with a blowout.

New record - Unfortunately, no. Michigan surrendered 330 points this year, just shy of the 347 from last season.

Long run - We had three of them (see above). And Saine would still be running today if he didn't reach paydirt after 29 yards.

Mashed Taters - Mali was asking for a replay of Sam McGuffie's last memory as a Michigan player. I think we gave it to a new player this year. Darryl Stonum still doesn't know what hit him. He'll be on anti-depressants and transferring to Rice by next weekend.

One false start - FINALLY they listened! We only had one, on an extra point after the TD that put us up by 11 in the third quarter.

Shutout - Nope, sorry.

Gold pants - Yes, we did it again. They're giving those things away like candy these past 9 years!

Jim

200+ yards rushing - How's 251 sound, boys?? Yes, sir we stomped them on the ground. Wasn't Brandon Graham supposed to be the great wall of defense against the run? Six tackles later, and he's just another guy playing for the 10th-best team in the Big Ten.

Humiliation of tsun's offense -

Embarrassing enough for you?

Embarrassing enough for you?

I've gotta say this one was a rousing success. Yes, they got some yardage on us when they wanted it, but we kicked their sorry asses when we needed to. Taint Fivecier's turnovers were the difference, and he's the most humilated man in Michigan (a hard task to do these days). Plus, it was kinda easy to figure out what was going to happen when "The Denard Robinson Experience" took the field. Even the UM fans were shouting "it's a run coming" wby the end of the game.

Eric

Brandon Graham with NO sacks - Well, he had one. Then on the next play we let him in again. He fell for it, and Boom delivered the Boom.

Terrelle Pryor to have the game of his career - Not quite, but he is 2-0 against the Big Blue.

A shutout - No, but it's worth noting that Michigan has scored 20 total points in the last 12 quarters against Ohio State. Is that good enough for you?

More tears of unfathomable sadness - Does Little Mikey Shaw count? Then yes, Eric's wish is fulfilled.

Yep, I saw what I wanted; an ass-kicking. I saw some “bend-but-I’ll-take-the-ball-from-you” defense, and an impressive running game.

I saw good game management from Pryor. I would have liked to have seen a little more Luft under the deep passes, but overall a solid game.

I saw good game management from Tressel (there, I said it). You just knew that with a two-score lead and a big play defense, JT was going into full-metal Tresselball in the 4th quarter. My son was a little peeved that JT didn’t try to get another FG late in game to make it a 2TD game for a litle more breathing space. I told him ‘tough luck’, OSU will sit on the ball, and you won’t cover the spread.

Oh, I also liked a lot of Scarlet in The Big House. Jeff, since you’ve renamed Tate to ‘Fivecier’, maybe you should rename ‘The Big House’ to ‘Our House’.
