So here I am sitting at my computer, setting up our new home (hopefully to be launched on January 1st) with SB Nation, and I thought “good thing I don’t have anything to write for my old blog, for I simply cannot find the time”.
Then I remembered that we have hundreds (if not thousands) of Nevada and SMU fans who are waiting for my preview of the Hawaii Bowl!
Well then, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. Reasons you should watch this game?
Back in the 80′s I heard a lot about SMU. They were in the news frequently, but it was because they had reeived the death penalty from the NCAA for repeated rules violations. Come Christmas morning, they’re going to feel like they did in the 80s, and perhaps wish they hadn’t gained clemency from the governor.
However, Nevada is in the WAC, and after the way fellow conference member Fresno State shit the bed against an average Wyoming team in the New Mexico Bowl…well, you know where I’m heading with this.
Jeff at the BBC: Nevada
Mali: SMU
Jim: SMU
Eric: Nevada
See, even the staff here at tBBC is bitterly divided. Ooh, tension!
Let’s watch the game tomorrow night and see what happens. OK, I gotta get back to blog-building seeyabye.

You forgot the big one- Former Warriors coach June Jones coming back to the Islands as coach of the SMU Mustangs. He took the money and ran after Hawaii said that they couldn’t pay him the salary he thought he deserved.
Since I owe I know all that I know about Hawaii to that one Brady Bunch three part special episode, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jones is the target of some sort of voodoo curse. And, of course, Vincent Price would be prominently involved.
This game is a stepping stone for one of these programs- just think of the huge success that Notre Dame had this season after breaking their bowl loosing streak in Hawaii last year. Perhaps June called Charlie for advice.
