Four More Years

Written August 9th, 2010 by MaliBuckeye

Well, maybe not “more”, but it’s interesting that Terrelle offered up this gem-

I want to leave a legacy here. That’s my goal. That’s why I’ll be here for four years.

Certainly, it’s unrealistic to think that he might change his mind should this season be a breakout for him, but it’s exciting nonetheless to hear that he’s thinking about things like “legacy”.

I could be a fool, I may be drinking the Kool-Aid, but I have a feeling this kid may put together 2 of the more amazing years we’ve seen out of a QB at Ohio State. A possible Heisman or 2, National Championship, or 2, and a 4-0 record vs Michigan, sounds like a legacy to me

Rather bold statement by Pryor here – Why? Well adding to the already 1 million comparisons out there of Pryor to Vince Young (VY)… remember VY was also high atop the preseason Heisman watch list, [and he had just come off a Rosebowl Victory over Meat-Chicken(!)]. All throughout that 2005 season leading up to the Nat’l Champ showdown w/ USC, Young had indicated AND had been quoted stating he would return for his senior year. I believe [I may be mistaken] but I believe even at the Nat’l Championship game he said he would return the next year [return for his senior season] but I cannot remember if that happened before or after they had won. Nevertheless, it is not important when he said it during the Championship, the point remains that the outcome of a season [especially when your last game is the Nat'l Championship] influences the decisions of these young men. Many factors will play into Pryor’s decision at the end of this year, this is probably the first of many statements to come by Pryor on his future plans. As long as Tresselball continues to work against Bielema (spl?) & Ferentz I fail see how we would not make it to the title game (barring no major malfunctions with the BCS computers!!!). There is a lot of solid competition for the Heisman trophy this year… In my opinion we have an easier chance of reaching the NC game than Pryor does of winning the Heisman (not b/c he isn’t great, but b/c we aren’t like those Pass-Happy Pac10/West Coast offenses, we got Boom and Zoom to share the ball with!) So – would Pryor return if we gain the Nat’l Title berth (or even better a NC Victory!) with no Heisman (like VY). Or would he return if He wins the Heisman but no NC Berth (or NC loss – aka Sam Bradford)? Of course BOTH a Heisman and NC Victory would be downright absolutely awesome… but then would Pryor return after winning both? We shall see… Go Buckeyes!
