Shots from the Schott

Written February 28th, 2011 by Joe Laing

Joe is back with the vibe from yesterday’s double header @ the Schott

Thank you, Seniors (clap, clap, clapclapclap)

  • Are the women back on track?  They are sure playing like it after the smackdown of Wisky.  They must fill the hatred that the men’s team is feeling toward the Wisconsin Buzzcuts.
  • We are 36-1 in our last 37 home games over the past 2 years.  And 19-0 this year is our best home record ever!  We will go for 20-0 next weekend against Wisky.
  • Talk about a big time atmosphere for the men’s game.  Another sold out game, AJ Hawk, Bobby Carpenter and others in the house!

You should click this and

  • Big football recruiting day…The ones I saw, Ifeadi Odenigbo, Tom Strobel (Offered yesterday, Fickel was really talking him up), Alex Pace, Sean Draper, Devon Bogard, Terry Richardson (Offered yesterday), James Ross.  We will have more on the 2012 class later in the week!
  • Trey McDonald was also in attendance getting a feel for next year when he suits up for Buckeyes!
  • D. Thomas having a big time game against his home state.  At one point he had 14 pts in 3:36 of game time!  He was on fire, and it really led to him playing better defense.
  • Craft with 6 steals, he is turning into a machine when it comes to turning guys over.
  • Nice balanced attack today, playing our top 9 guys.  No one over 34 minutes, 4 guys in double figures.
  • Sully had probably his worst game, as 13 minutes and 5 points are both season lows.
  • Diebs continues his streak…45 games with at least 1 3 pointer.

Troll Matta?

  • Tom Crean complaining that Matta is talking to the refs at halftime?  Is he mad that he is 0-6 against Ohio State since taking the job?
  • Ohio State #1 again!!

    Oh, where to begin?

Does Crean think that Thad’s halftime “chat ups” with the refs caused his team to be Total Suck in the 1st half? Thad Matta, master of space-time.

Not really a big deal with Sullinger’s low participation / production numbers yesterday. The two early fouls took him out of flow and soonafter, the lead was so large and Indiana so inept, there was no way a comeback was in sight. A good time to give Sully some rest before Tuesday.
