tBBC Radio Hour: 2011 Toledo Preview

Written September 7th, 2011 by Eric

Eric, Jim, and Joe Dexter return for another game preview! As the Buckeyes prepare for their next opponent, the Toledo Rockets, the crew talks about how the Buckeyes did against Akron, and what they expect from the Rockets. They discuss Toledo’s opening game against New Hampshire, and how they feel about Rob Ianello after his post game comments to Fickell.

Afterwards, Eric interviews Zach Silka of the Toledo Blade. Silka, a Toledo sportswriter, talks about the Rockets, how he feels they will perform this season, and his thoughts regarding this matchup with the Buckeyes.

All this and more on this week’s Buckeye Battle Cry Radio Hour!

Eric, nice Radio Hour, thanks. I’ve got a couple comments.

For the “Bauserman for Heisman” campaign, maybe we can play up renaming The Shoe to “The Haus that Baus built”, or shorten it to The BausHaus.

I think that Ianello’s post-game carping was poor form. It looked like our offense & defense were goint pretty deep into their depth charts. For God’s sake, let these kids play.

Finally, a good friend of mine has a son who is a reserve LB for New Hampshire. He didn’t think that UNH brought theie ‘A’ game against Toledo, but it wouldn’t have mattered; Toledo is a really good team.

Great thoughts Ken, thanks for sharing!

The UNH comments are a little scary, but it’s not surprising that the sounds are that Toledo is very good. The Bucks are gonna need to come hungry and ready to go, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Toledo found some success early on as OSU tries to gauge what they need to do to take care of business.

I like “The Haus that Baus built”, but do we want to forsake Chic Harley? Thoughts?

I think we can neatly sidestep that issue by just calling the Shoe the BausHaus for this season. I like the sound of that.

And then you’ve always got Miller Time to look forward to in the BausHaus.
