Taylor Decker to visit Ohio State this Weekend

Ready to follow his coaches?

Big news on the recruiting front.

Ohio offensive tackle and current Notre Dame verbal commit Taylor Decker will be visiting Ohio State this weekend.

Considering that his position coach and primary recruiter at Notre Dame were just officially announced and introduced as a part of Ohio State’s coaching staff, the writing seems to be on the wall for this one.

Given the need at tackle, Decker switching his commitment to the Buckeyes would obviously be a huge development for the 2012 class and for the team moving forward.

With the uncertainty surrounding Jordan Diamond (both in terms of where he will sign and if he projects at LT) and the recent news that Joey O’Conner is being recruited as an interior linemen, it can’t be overstated what big news this is and the impact it could have on the 2012 class.

A duo of Decker and Dodson at tackle would be an amazing finish, particularly when you consider how bleak things have looked at the position throughout this recruiting cycle.

Fingers crossed.

In other recruiting news, recently offered MA CB Armani Reeves will be visiting with his teammate Camren Williams on January 18th. Both were formerly committed to Penn State and may be a “package deal”.

Many have felt confident (including myself) that Williams will be a Buckeye after his initial visit to Columbus, and Reeves joining him for his return visit is a major development- particularly if the “package deal” talk is to be believed.

With the recent legal trouble of Dominic Clarke, a corner back or two seem to be new targets in 2012, and if things go well Reeves could very well be a much needed addition to the class.

Make sure to check out our 2012 Recruiting Big Board for daily updates on the latest offers and targeted players and for links to all of the latest news.

Things are moving a mile a minute right now (get used to it under Meyer) and as a follower of recruiting, you have to love it.

This is encouraging news about young Mr. Decker. I hadn’t really put much stock in the Williams/Reeves deal, but with Dominic Clarke’s recent absence of reasoning, it just might work. Oh, to get through the next two and a half weeks…

We put up an article 2 days ago and things change that fast. Look for some major action this weekend with Decker. I would add him as in now.

    Decker
    Dodson
    O’Conner
    Williams
    Bradley
    Reeves
    Neal

Could substitute a lb for Bradley if he likes Pitt, Bogard is looking to visit USC we will see what comes of that if the coaching staff gave him that blessing or not, and if Decker does decide to stay with ND Diamond is still out there and they could pass on O’Conner if he doesn’t pass the look test
