Mr. Williams
Well, we wanted recruiting news… just didn’t expect it to be basketball related!
After a visit to Columbus this past weekend, Baltimore Mount St. Joseph shooting guard Kameron Williams decided to pull the trigger and verbal to Thad Matta and Ohio State, becoming the second member of the 2013 class. Williams will join Marc Loving as a part of a class that’s still developing, which is good news for Buckeye fans after a sub-par (by Matta standards) 2012 recruiting season.
Williams was believed to have been a Miami lean prior to his trip this past week, and called Ohio State “the cream of the crop in terms of men’s basketball”. And Williams ain’t too shabby himself, excelling in one of the nation’s basketball hotbeds.
The 6′ 3″ 170 senior is a four star on most of the recruiting sites, and is also a top overall recruit in the upcoming class. After the jump, you can see highlights of his performance at the Nike Global Challenge… he’s pretty good.
Welcome to the Buckeye Family, Kameron!

He’s clearly an expert on the little down the lane floater, and it’s a thing of beauty. He apparently shot near 52% from three at a recent event, but it seems from the video that he needs to improve upper body strength before he’ll be an elite outside shooter. When he goes straight up he looks very fundamentally sound, but you can tell fom the way his feet kick on his long range shots that he’s torquing his body to get more power in his shot.
He’ll play, just from what he can do putting the ball on the floor. However, it may be a little while (a season?) before he’s dropping trey’s like a master.

Looks to me like he needs to learn how to use his left hand……otherwise certainly knows where his shot is. Welcome to Buckeye Nation, Kameron!!
