One of the top ten coaches in NCAA men’s basketball is now paid like one. Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith has announced that Ohio State plans to modify head coach Thad Matta’s contract pending the Board of Trustees’ approval.
Matta will now receive 3.2 million per year, compared to 2.9 per season. According to Brandon Castel of The O-Zone, Matta will also receive a bonus based on academic performance.
The Board is expected to approve the ratified contract on Friday.
