Could also be a “comfort” thing. If there are 2 players on a team, one that we desperately want and one that could fit our needs elsewhere (but maybe not one of the best at the position), why not offer both? Then there’s the chance that they could come to school together and help each other with issues like homesickness – or, even better, facilitate team bonding, since they should already have a pre-formed bond.

Another trend in the 2014 class worth noting is the staff offering teammates.

This makes it unclear if certain players have commitable offers versus the staff wanting them to visit campus.

Being that many of the players are teammates, this could simply be a strategy to facilitate carpooling which would increase the chances of visits, especially from out of state players- like those from Georgia, for instance.
