Lawrence Marshall Is A Buckeye !!! UPDATE: Was?

Written February 13th, 2013 by MaliBuckeye
UPDATE: After visiting Michigan State on Tuesday and Michigan on Wednesday, Marshall has decided to re-open his recruitment and has decommitted from Ohio State. It’s certainly a long way until Signing Day 2014, and Ohio State is still very much involved in this process. That being said, Coach Meyer has certainly shown that the Buckeyes are able to replace people who choose to go elsewhere- See Anzalone, Alex.

And they keep on coming… Ohio State’s 2014 Class has just grown by one more, with a top target from that state up north verballing to the Buckeyes!

Southfield’s Lawrence Marshall joins Damon Webb as being another top 5 recruit from Michigan to commit to Ohio State for this incoming class. The 6’3″ 205 pound junior is a four star defensive lineman, and the fourth member of the 2014 class.

It’s been well documented that Ohio State’s coaches are working diligently to establish a presence in Michigan, with several coaches joking that Kerry Coombs might just need an office in their high schools.  Marshall is obviously the fruit of those relationships.

Recruited by both Michigan schools, he was receiving interest from Indiana (ironically), Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Tennessee. After the jump, you can see why he was so highly regarded:

Welcome to the Buckeye Family, Mr. Marshall!

Well, this was quite the surprise to wake up to on a sleepless night. Hope things work out for him in the end.

As good as it feels to take guys from tsun, this is probably for the better. Woe dont really need to recruit up there. Ohio is the most fertile recruiting in the big teb, and Urban is a monster national recruiter. The buckeyes are in great hands. I am more concerned about the rest of the big ten. They need to get better, so Im ok with letting them have the second best recruiting land in the big ten. MSU and TTUN need all the tallent they can get. We get the best out of ohio as our base and then get elite tallent from texas, cali, georigia, florida, new jersey, wherever urban wants.

Please kids, why the heck are you committing if you are not COMPLETELY sure of your decision. If you are not 110 percent sure of your decision, take your time and make the right decision for yourself. This happens time after time after time. I understand there are circumstances that change like coaching changes or sanctions put on a team but if you make a decision stand by it!!!
