2/15 – Ohio State fell in its opener to Mercer 6-5 in 1o innings. Pat Porter was 3 for 3 for the Buckeyes with 2 RBIs and a run scored.

2/16 – The Buckeyes fell 13-3 to Notre Dame on Saturday. Tim Wetzel and Mike Carroll each had two hits for Ohio State.

Men’s Gymnastics

2/16 – Despite posting its best score of the season, No. 5 Ohio State fell to No. 3 Michigan by a score of 446.150 – 435.650 on Saturday at St. John Arena.  Michael Newburger won the pommel horse event title for the Buckeyes with a score of 15.40 while Larry Mayer won the vault title with a score of 15.35.

Men’s Ice Hockey

2/15-16 – Ohio State tied No. 6 Western Michigan 1-1 on Friday night.  Freshman Tyler Lundey scored the lone goal for the Buckeyes while goalie Brady Hjelle had 30 saves. The Broncos won the shootout to win the CCHA point.  The Buckeyes defeated Western Michigan 6-3 on Saturday.  Alex Szczechura, Tanner Fritz, and Max McCormick led Ohio State with 11 points and goalie Brady Hjelle had 22 saves.

Men’s Tennis

2/10 – No. 4 Ohio State suffered its first loss to No. 15 Texas A&M by a score of 4-3. The singles match between Devin McCarthy and Harry Adams decided the outcome of the entire match, where McCarthy lost 6-3, won 6-4, and then lost 7-5.

Men’s Volleyball

2/15 – The No. 6 Buckeyes won 3-1 over IPFW (29-31, 23-25, 25-18, 25-23). Ohio State had a season-high 17 blocks as a team. Michael Henchy and Andrew Lutz led the Bucks with 17 and 16 kills.


2/10 – No. 5 Ohio State fell to No. 3 Penn State 29-18 on Senior Day at St. John Arena.  Ohio State led 15-4 after four matches, but the Nittany Lions won 5 of the next 6 to claim the victory.

Women’s Gymnastics

2/16 – No. 19 Ohio State defeated Michigan State 195.575-194.250 on Saturday in East Lansing.  Ohio State won both the bars and the floor exercises.  Aly Marohn, who led Ohio State, tied for first in the all around with a score of 39.075.

Women’s Hockey

2/15-16- Ohio State dropped a 5-2 decision to North Dakota on Friday night. Holly Langan scored both goals for the Buckeyes, moving her to fifth on the all-time scoring list at Ohio State. On Saturday, the Buckeyes dropped another game to North Dakota by a score of 3-2.


2/15-16 – Ohio State competed in the Jacksonville University Tournament this weekend. On Friday, they defeated Bethune Cookman 11-0 in six innings after the team combined for 15 hits.  Later on Friday, the Buckeyes fell 4-2 to Jacksonville.

Women’s Tennis

2/12 – Ohio State fell to Kentucky 4-3 on Tuesday. Noelle Malley & Gabby Steele led Ohio State, both winning their singles matches & improving their winning streaks to nine.

    Thanks for update, Janelle. This seems to conclude a fairly ‘blah’ week for athletics. On to next week.

    Good update Janelle. Not all bad bad for Buckeye Nation this past week.
