NCAA Regionals- Dayton!

Written March 26th, 2013 by Janelle

This weekend I had the opportunity to go and see Ohio State play in the second & third rounds of the NCAA Tournament in Dayton.  Having never been to a tournament game before, I took my fair share of pictures, and figured I would share some of them with all of you.  Seeing the Buckeyes advance on Friday was fun, but yesterday’s game was something else.  I won’t ever forget the experience, and I definitely won’t ever forget Aaron’s last second heroics & the atmosphere in Dayton Arena after the shot went in. I was happy to be able to watch it happen live with my fellow Ohio State students. It’s a moment I’m quite sure we’ll all be talking about for a long, long time. Now with that said, I present to you My Weekend in Dayton….

Walking to Dayton Arena on Friday afternoon. If you've never seen a game there, I highly recommend that you do. An absolutely amazing venue to see a game.

75 Years of NCAA Basketball...I think we should celebrate with an Ohio State Men's Basketball National Championship.

Me at the time: What is a “Gael anyway?”

Getting some more shots up.

I wish we could have stayed down there, but we couldn’t…

Just about game time....

Watching starting line ups.

I still don’t exactly know what a “Gael” is, truthfully.

Team huddle before the game. "Hey guys, let's score a gazillion points today."

Ohio State proceeds to score 95 points on Iona, becoming the first team to score 90 or more points in the NCAA Tournament. We all knew that would happen, right? (Way to poke a bear, Momo Jones).

Pre-game warm ups for Game 2

It’s really a miracle I don’t have vision problems after having to watch Notre Dame in those uniforms live…

I mean, LOOK at them. My eyes were bleeding. (And yes, we moved downstairs for the second game. Thanks, Iona fans for leaving).

Thank goodness Iowa State won so we didn’t have to see the Irish in their completely green uniforms in the third round.

Sunday's ticket...hopefully, I get a few more of these for Atlanta.

After the game…there is a reason it’s blurry…

We were still jumping up & down after the win! It was at this point that I yelled, “I FORGIVE YOU, AARON!”

This past weekend was an unbelievable experience. I had so much fun with Buckeye Nation in Dayton watching this team advance to the Sweet 16 (even though I swear the game on Sunday took years off of my life).  The trip was worth every penny.  In fact, you could say it was priceless.  Now, I won’t be in L.A. this week to cheer the team on live in the Sweet 16 on Thursday and hopefully, the Elite 8 on Saturday.

However, rest assured that I WILL be in Atlanta for the Final Four if they make it there. That is an opportunity I will not miss.

Go Bucks.

Great stuff, Janelle, thanks. The atmosphere must have been really something. In the 1st pic, it appears that the Good Folks of Dayton and the NCAA rolled out the red carpet for you, no?

Thanks, Ken. It was an amazing atmosphere…just a spectacular venue to see a basketball game. And re: the red carpet…that’s what we said when walking to the arena!
