If we beat Minnesota and lose to Penn State then I think we will sneak in. We will have 18 wins and have gone 7-3 in our last 10 games and finishing the season well is supposed to be a factor in deciding who goes to the tournament. Two of those seven wins would have been against teams that will get into the tournament (Michigan and MSU) and two of the three loses would have come to ranked teams and the other loss to a team that is also on the NCAA bubble. The fact that OSU is a host for the first two rounds would also probably help the Buckeyes as in women's hosts have to play at home in the opening rounds and the committee has made seeding choices in the past that seemed based on selling tickets, this could help OSU if it is a tossup as to whether they are the last in or the first out. ESPN's Charlie Creme currently has OSU as one of the first four out which I agree with right now, one more win could push us over the top.

Of course none of this stuff exists in a vacuum and what happens in other conference tournaments could matter. We need to hope that other bubble teams lose as early as possible and that nobody who is currently on the outside looking in puts together a run and wins their conference tournament. If we can beat Minny and PSU then I think we are a lock; one win would probably get us in but I will be very nervous on selection day.

Thanks for the run down, Charles, well done as usual.

Let me blithely assume that OSU beats Minnesota on Thursday. If Ohio State then loses to Penn State, what is your opinion of the Buckeyes getting invited to the NCAA's with 18 wins and a late season resurgence of sorts? Thanks.
