Ohio State alumni and friend of tBBC Mekka Don has released the official song for the 2013 football season.
He’s been working with the team and the OSU Athletic Department on this, so you’re sure to hear it at tailgates, at the game, and during the afterparties. Oh, and he’s going to be featured at Eleven Warriors’ great Eat Too Brutus event.
You can get the song for yourself at his site- Personally, I’m still using last year’s release as a part of my workout mix, so I’m really excited about what’s coming up.
He’s also dropping an album later this fall that we’ll be filling you in on as well.
From the press release:
Mekka Don will be releasing his new single ”Juice” for Buckeye Nation on Tuesday August 6th that will be played at every home football game at The Shoe this upcoming season. The song plays on the Urban Meyer mantra of who’s got the “juice”, and features a catchy beat, hypnotic hook and plenty of fiery lyrics to get Buckeye Nation juiced up for games this year.
Mekka Don’s last Buckeye release “Let’s Go O-H-I-O” was played in The Shoe before every home game, licensed for commercial use by multiple outlets, and was performed at The Ohio State v. Indiana Men’s Basketball Game. Additionally the song was used to create a “Let’s Go O-H-I-O” fan video with OSU which served as a rallying cry for the Men’s Basketball team during March Madness, and sparked the creation of a successful t-shirt by Columbus based company Homage. “With the reception for ‘Let’s Go O-H-I-O’ last year and all of the excitement surrounding Ohio State Football this year, I felt like it was only right to give the fans something new to jam to before football games. We’ve been through a lot the last couple years and its time for us to regain our rightful place in the college football landscape. We all have to bring the Juice every single week,” says Mekka Don.
