Today, Florida receiver Johnnie Dixon committed to the Buckeyes following a weekend that saw his Dwyer team win the Florida 7A state title, in a game where he had 5 receptions for 55 yards and a score.
The 5’10″, 187 pound Dixon held offers from Florida, Florida State, Oregon, Tennessee, Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, and Notre Dame, but most believed that it came down to the Buckeyes, Alabama, and Miami in the end. The four star hinted at his decision in the picture you see on the right there, taken at halftime of the title victory.
Coach Meyer and staff were in home recently, which certainly didn’t hurt the relationship that Dixon had build with the Buckeyes. He attended The Opening at Oregon, and visited Columbus for the Wisconsin game. His highschool had a great connection with the Gator program during Meyer’s tenure in Gainesville.
You know the drill, after the jump you can check out Jonnie’s highlights from the first half of his season as well as previous season:
Welcome to the Buckeye Family, Mr. Dixon!
