North Dakota State University Bison
The Bison (7-3) had a good season in 2013, going 24-10 (12-4). Based on their schedule and performance so far this season, they appear to be on tracking to repeat this record. They average 79 points per game and have six players averaging at or near double digit scoring. They are led by 6’7” guard Taylor Braun at 16.2 PPG, 6’8” forward Marshall Bjorklund at 15.2 PPG and senior 6’6” forward Dexter Werner at 12.0 PPG. Werner also leads the Bison in rebounding with 9 per game.

Ohio State University Buckeyes
The #3 Buckeyes (9-0) are coming off an impressive end-to-end win over Bryant College on Wednesday, 86-48. The Buckeyes were led by Lenzelle Smith Jr. (19 points, 8 rebounds), Amir Williams (12 points, 9 rebounds, 6 blocks) and Shannon Scott (6 points, 5 steals, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 turtle doves and 1 partridge in a pear tree).
And, here are your Ohio State Buckeyes:
|32||L. Smith Jr.||6’4″||G||12.9||52.9||47.5||74.2||5.1||1.6||2.1|
|33||A. Della Valle||6’5″||G||4.6||31.0||32.3||50.0||2.0||0.2||0.7|
NDSU runs a 3G/2F lineup, but they do go 6’7″-6’8″ on the front line with Braun bring good height, and shooting skills to the wing position as the 3rd guard. I guess one likely matchup will be OSU’s Sam Thompson (6’7″, 200 lbs) against NDSU’s TrayVonn Wright (6’7″, 185 lbs). The more challenging matchup will be possibly Amir Williams against the 6’8″ Marshall Bjorklund. Bjorklund is shooting 71% from the field. That’s pretty damn good.
I do feel that among Craft, Smith and Scott, there will be plenty of passing lane disruption with will disrupt the Bison offensive flow. We’ve seen it several times this season; high scoring teams play the Buckeyes and perform way under their scoring average. I hope to see it Saturday, as well.
