Ohio State University Buckeyes
The Buckeyes avenged a loss in their previous meeting with TTUN with an impressive win at Crisler. This game somewhat mirrored the men’s game on Thursday, where both team had dismal 1st half shooting performances, but really turned it around in the 2nd halves. I do want to point out the play of Ashley Adams (11 pts, 9 rebs, 2 asst, 2 stls) in 32 minutes of playing time. If you remember early in the non-conference play, Ashley was really struggling to get her game on track and saw less court time than the team manager. If she can build on this performance, it will be a gratifying senior season for Ms Adams. And for us, as well
And, here are your Ohio State Buckeyes:
Obviously, the Spartans run everything through Pickrel and Powers. These will be interesting match-ups, offensively and defensively, especially if Ashley Adams continues her recent play. The Buckeyes also need to maintain a tight shot selection; they’re only ‘so-so’ with 3′s, so cut down on wasted possessions. For instance, in the second half, as Charles pointed out in the recap (above) OSU shot 60% from the field. Eliminate the 3-point efforts, and the Buckeyes are shooting 70% from the field. Granted, that is an extremely small sample size, but that will win you a lot a ball games.
