The #24 Ohio State Buckeyes (16-5, 3-5) trek to the challenging environment of The Kohl Center to square off against the #14 Wisconsin Badgers (17-4, 4-4). After starting the season a combined 31-0, the two teams are currently limping at 2-9 in the past month. These teams are pretty close to being in free-fall, and that they are both seeking answers is not far off the mark.
Here’s their Profile
University of Wisconsin
Despite their recent slide, Wisconsin is scoring at a pretty good clip (74 points per game) driven by 4 players averaging double digits; they are Ben Brust (13.2 ppg), Frank Kaminsky (13.1 ppg) and Traevon Jackson (11.0) ppg). The fourth is Sam Dekker, who leads the team in scoring and rebounding (14.0 ppg, 6.4 rpg).
Wisconsin uses a 3G/2F lineup; Ben Brust (6’1”), Traevon Jackson (6’2”) and Josh Gasser (6’3”) are the guards and the forwards are Sam Dekker (6’7”) and obligatory tall white guy Frank Kaminsky (7’0”). First players off the bench are 6’7” forward Nigel Hayes (6.8 ppg) and 6’3” guard Bronson Koenig (3.3 ppg).
Here are the Wisconsin Badgers:
Ohio State University Buckeyes
The Buckeyes have not had a good 2014, going 2-5 since we rung in the New Year. My concern is that in the last three games, they’ve been outplayed by two fair-to-poor basketball programs and barely escaped another. This team is a Forest Gump Box of Chocolates; I have no idea what we’re going to see until tip-off.
And, here are your Ohio State Buckeyes:

|33||A. Della Valle||6’5″||G||5.0||38.8||36.4||60.9||1.9||0.3||0.7|
Earlier this season, both teams, at one time were ranked #3. Next week, Wisconsin may or may not still be in the Top 20 and Ohio State will be in the category of “Others Receiving Votes”. Tune in, this could be interesting. This game reminds me of a Roadrunner/Wiley Coyote cartoon where Wiley is suspended in mid-air, and the Roadrunner watches him. Which team is which character remains to be seen. Tune in Saturday to find out.
