The Buckeyes finally break the cold streak with an in-state athlete, and have received a verbal from Athens Ohio’s Joe Burrow.
You read that right… Athens. His father is the defensive coordinator for the Bobcats, so you know that Brady Hoke is confused about this recent development.
A three/four star quarterback, Burrow is ranked as one of the top QBs in the state, and held offers from Boston College, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, Minnesota, and NC State. He was the 2013 Gatorade Player of the Year in Ohio as well.
The 6’4″, 205 lb senior at The Plains Highschool in Athens is the first QB that Ohio State has added to the 2015 class. It’s expected that they will add one additional player at this position, and it’s believed that Torrance Gibson is still high on their list to fill that slot.
After the jump, check out what Burrow brings to the table:
Welcome to the Buckeye Family, Mr. Burrow… we’re excited to see you represent Ohio so well!
