We’re in post-draft funk here at SBP… also brought on by recent trips to the orthodontist. Wheee. That also explains why
our soundtrack is one of Steve Martin’s lesser known works… his new stuff is much different.
Invented In Kentucky
Game Time! No, we’re not at kickoff yet… dangit. But today we found out that the Rutgers game (Homecoming) will be a 3:30 PM kickoff, and either on ABC or the Big Ten Network. So that’s one more thing to look forward to.
Hellloooooo Tracy Wolfson- The season opener against Navy will be on CBS, who must have confused their Navies or something. Wait… we won’t be able to watch it?
Speaking Of- This is pretty cool, although I still will be cheering for him to get broken in half this fall.
Gettin’ Digits- Jason will be along shortly with a look at the Buckeyes who are headed to “The League”, but we found out today which jerseys we need to put on the Father’s Day wish list. Hyde will switch to #28 ( ), Shazier will sport #50, Linsley’s Packers’ garb will be #63. #34 is retired
Oh, Michael- Monsieur Adams was in the news again… and not for good things.
Buckeye Hoops Champs- Sure, The Villain and Greg Oden are still in the hunt for the big trophy, but a couple of Scarlet and Gray champs were crowned recently. DeShaun Thomas and David Lighty representing in France… where they’re already familiar with one of the local tunes.
Buckeye Hoops Bye Bye- Maleeka Kynard will be leaving the Women’s Hoops program. Charles and WVa… any thoughts?
Paying It Forward- Ok, indulge my link to the Four Letter Network… what the Ohio State Baseball team is doing is really awesome.
Good News! The ‘Shoe is getting a facelift that includes new field turf!
Bad News! It’s the same design as before- the “Wisconsin End Zone” look. I miss the grass, and I think that Josh Winslow’s mockup would have been pretty sweet as well…
The team over at EDSBS discovered
this amazing resource on Tuesday, and have offered participants the opportunity to show off their artistic skills. Here are two of my favorites, and one creation of my own design:

Around The NCAA
Show Me The Money- Because, according to this review, the NCAA’s arguments that it can’t make changes to support players in the ways that are being considered just doesn’t hold water.
Friends With (Impermissible) Benefits- Oklahoma, where you have to prove your love for each other’s friends, family, and the NCAA.
Limits Of Love- Even if human charity compelled people to help show love to this young man headed to Boise State, the NCAA would also tell you that it wouldn’t matter.
What The Pell? John Infante, with a quick solution to the “How will we know how much to pay student athletes that’s fair no matter the institution?” question; Hint- most of us who are college graduates are already familiar with this.
Not A Problem- Hey, I’m not one to jump to conclusions, but it seems like there’s already been a solution to the whole “How do we get our football players additional funding?” debate discovered in Alabama.
I Was Told There’d Be No Math- At least not any that didn’t also have really cool graphs.
Eight Is Enough- The ACC joined the SEC in holding to the eight conference game schedule; the B1G, B12, and PAC all play at least nine. Like the SEC, they’ll encourage their teams to play at least one other game from the “Big 5″ conferences ( and Notre Dame… which I thought was part of the ACC kinda’ sorta’). So, lots of small programs from big conferences now will have the opportunity to make a little money with matchups against these two “powerhouses”… well, not everyone will get to play. But hey… new logo!
It’s only a matter of time until the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer leaves port thusly:
