It has been reported and confirmed that Joe Burrow committed to The Ohio State Buckeyes! That said, Burrow will most likely be the only quarterback taken this year unless Torrance Gibson comes this way. Some may see that as a bad thing, but with 2016 being a strong group of quarterbacks and Danny Clark coming in 2017, I think we could be in a much worse situation. To top it off, Burrow’s commitment has landed us a visit from Chris Clark, and he is working to help recruit a lot of these national kids! As a side bar, both Burrow and Clark showed up to the Elite 11 yesterday decked out in The Ohio State gear!!! (all smiles)
Then there is Damien Harris being interviewed here (all smiles):
“It’s still kind of cool the way things go with Coach Meyer,” Harris told cleveland.com Sunday, while attending a Nike Football Training Camp at Ohio State. “As a kid growing up, I’d see him on TV and I was like, ‘Man, he’s the man.’ And now I get to be real cool with him. We walk into a basketball game together, we just get to enjoy life together right now – maybe for the next four years. It’ definitely been a blessing. I get to be looked at as important enough to spend time with one of the greats of all time. It’s definitely an honor. I don’t take it for granted. I’m real thankful for it.”
If you have read all the reports you know that Justin Hilliard is now an OSU lean, in my opinion. Why else would you be recruiting other players to come to OSU, and befriend Raekwon McMillian. Remember, Sam Hubbard is an ex-teammate and very good friend (all smiles).
Now we get to Matthew Burrell, the big OL out of Virginia. This young man is 6’6, 290lbs and I would now say a Buckeye lean after his visit this past weekend. I heard he absolutely loved it and will be back (all smiles).
I also believe Darius Fullwood will be a Buckeye! He is a four star recruit out of Olney, Maryland and is 6’4, 240 lbs of DE. He seems to have a very good relationship with the staff and I expect to see him in this class (all smiles).
Mike Weber, 2015 RB recruit out Detroit Cass Tech, has named OSU his leader as of now. I think this is huge to keep disrupting scum pipeline success at Detroit Cass Tech (all smiles).
In my own back yard of Garner, North Carolina is a four star 2015 RB recruit named Nyheim Hines. I have had the privilege to watch this young man play in person. Keep in mind, he plays in one of the toughest conferences in North Carolina and just excels. He is not the biggest back at 5’9, 187lbs, but runs a reported 4.34 40 and is a member of the track team. Below is a link of his highlights from his junior year (as a buddy told me, it’s liking watching a video game). If you were Urban, would you sign him? I say YES and he has said on record that he loves OSU (all smiles).
Lastly is Jashon Cornell, who after canceling more visits than any recruit I can remember, was at OSU this past weekend. At 6’4, 255lbs this four star DE came away very impressed to say the least. On twitter, Cornell praised Coach Meyer and Coach Johnson and even said they were two of his favorites. “Great visit at Ohio State today,” Cornell said. “Can see myself playing there with my bro (Justin Hilliard)!” There is that name Hilliard being associated with being a Buckeye again (all smiles).
So with all the concerns about the number of commitments we have, I think it’s a good time for everyone to walk away from the ledge and start getting excited again. That is why at this time, you guessed it.
I’m all SMILES!!!
