• Spring Forward- Lots and lots of news this week in preparation for the Spring Game in Cincinnati. Again, the “move” is due to a) Renovations in The Shoe and b) Wanting to increase the Buckeye presence in the southeast corner of the state. Kerry Coombs can only do so much, you guys.

• We Hardly Knew Ye- A bit of bad news to start today, with reports that Se’Von Pittman has been given his release and has left the program. There were whispers that this might be in the works earlier, but we can’t help but wish the kid well moving forward.
• Spring Forward! Tuesday was the first practice in a bit of an unusual Spring Session, and one that started earlier than almost any other time in Buckeye history. NFL player factory

Seven Buckeyes were selected to participate in this year’s NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. John Simon, Jonathan Hankins, Jake Stoneburner, Zack Boren, Reid Fragel, Nathan Williams and Etienne Sabino were poked, prodded and dissected by doctors and NFL executives. They then went onto the field at Lucas Oil Stadium for tests of agility, speed and overall skill.

The NFL awards a score to each player after they have completed all their drills. The drills are taken into consideration along with preliminary scouting reports appointed by league scouts. The following (direct from NFL.com) is how the league feels you should interpret their number grades.

Hoops getting interesting

As you’re reading this, or maybe after you read this or a little before you read this, the Buckeye basketball team will be on the court facing the Minnesota Golden Gophers at The Schottenstein Center. This is a huge week for the Buckeyes after being slapped in the face with a backhand in Wisconsin on Sunday to the tune of a 71-49 beat-down.

• Taking My Talents To… Tuesday night, we got another great shot of Buckeye alum Greg Oden, just as rumors were swirling about his work to rejoin an NBA franchise. In what might seem to be the most ironic choice of programs, speculation is that his return could either be with the Cavaliers or the Miami Heat… although, I’m sure he’ll be a lot more professional about how he makes that announcement.
