tBBC Film Room: QB Decision Making

Every situation comes with it's own unique choices, it's up to the QB to make snap judgments and deliver the football.

A quarterback's ability to make the best, quick decisions under pressure is what separates the great ones from the mediocre.

tBBC Film Room: Pass Placement

Sometimes we forget just how much goes into a 4 second play because a quarterback with great fundamentals always makes it look so easy.

It's up to the QB to give his receiver a chance to catch the football, which is why pass placement is so critical.

tBBC Film Room: Offensive Coordination

People forget just how much has to come together for a single play to work.  Football is the greatest team game there is, where every player has their own particular responsibility.

All 11 players working in unison allows an offense to run smoothly, but you're always one play away from the wheels falling off.

tBBC Film Room: Ground Attack

Football is an easy game.  Since the beginning of time football games have been decided in the trenches.

Whoever wins the run game, usually wins the ballgame.  What makes a team successful at toting the rock?  It's not just the ball carrier that makes it happen, the big uglies up front need to put in the work too.

tBBC Film Room: Pursuit Angles

We're back on the defensive side of the ball this week and we're talking pursuit angles.

There's no "perfect" play-call on defense, instead it's pursuit that gives a defense all the magic.  Pursuit conquers all, relentless speed to the football covers up all your mistakes.

tBBC Film Room: Flawless Execution

There's no "perfect play" in football, the magic lies within the execution.  Every player doing their job is a beautiful thing, when 11 teammates come together it's like poetry in motion.

tBBC Film Room: Linebacker School

It's week 3 in the film room, and we're taking it to the linebacker level today.  Often times people confuse fundamentals and technique for "football IQ."

Every movement in football has a technique associated with it, so it's proper teaching that allows a defender to decide whether to jump a route or sink back in his zone.

I like to think of defense as an orchestra, you better not get caught playing out of tune or "Beethoven's 5th" just won't sound the same.

tBBC Film Room: How to harness a QB's power

We're back in the film room this week and we take it under center to examine QB play.

It's a common misconception to place the emphasis on a QB's arm strength.  It's his legs and hips that provide the accuracy and the power to make the throw.

"Consistency is the hallmark of excellence" and until a quarterback can consistently repeat his successes, in my book they're just average.

A good coach once told me that 'potential' is a french word for "you aren't sh!t yet,"  in your 3rd year you better prove it!
