In short, yes.

From the opening kick-off Ohio State seized momentum and never gave it back. Young players got in early and often for their first taste of game action, and the play book on offense and defense was kept decidedly shut.

Ohio State looks primed and ready for Miami next Saturday.

As Ken Gordon says:

Overall, this was the dress rehearsal the coaching staff would have scripted if it could.

Unsurprisingly, Terrelle Pryor’s performance was something that many people were anxious to see.

Joe: Pryor to come out poised and ready for a big season.

Eric: A solid throwing day from Terrelle Pryor.

Jeff: The [Marshall] secondary is weak, so abuse it!

Completing 17 of 25 passes for 247 yards and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions showed the poise, the accuracy, the confidence, and the progression that we all wanted to see from Pryor.

Jeff: Foot on the … [Read More]

The Thundering Herd of Marshall rolled into town with the thought of pulling off a big upset over #2 ranked Ohio State for their brand new head coach Doc Holliday. However, on a day where the Buckeyes were honoring former Safety Jack Tatum, Marshall wasn’t going to find much success.

The game started out incredibly poorly for the Thundering Herd. Fielding the first kick of the game, the Marshall Returner was laid out by Dorian Bell hard. The hit shook the ball loose and a Buckeye defender jumped on top of it at the 22 yard line. With the fantastic starting field position the Buckeyes ran 4 plays, 3 of which were passes, ending in a 5 yard touchdown strike to DeVier Posey that looked almost undefended.

With their first possesion, Marshall managed to put themselves into a 3rd and 1, but found themselves stuffed on 3rd down by the … [Read More]

Color me impressed with the defensive line this spring.

After losing five key members of the rotation from last season, including two starters, it would be natural to assume that the D-Line might not be as good as last years group… at least not right away. Well, that inclination may just be wrong.

Is it possible that the line can be even better this year?Apparently people “in the know’ think that is a very real possibility.

Here are some reasons why it might happen.

Solomon Thomas, Melvin Fellows and Keith Wells are ready to contribute.

At least it looks that way.

Thomas made noise last spring by recording a ridiculous number of sacks in a jersey scrimmage (7 or something) and after the departure of so many players ahead of him, he will finally have the chance to get on the field.

Thomas appears to be a speed rusher extraordinaire, … [Read More]

The switch over to the new (old) site has set us back a little bit. So here are a bunch of links for your browsing pleasure.

The usual suspects check in once again with practice reports and various other updates.

First up, the practice reports.

Ken Gordon from the Dispatch has his usual notes from Tuesday’s practice.

The good folks over at ElevenWarriors.com were lucky enough to make some observations from Tuesday’s practice as well.

Finally, Tony Gerdeman from theozone.net continues their fantastic coverage of spring ball with his observations from Tuesday.

And for a summary of the summaries, Vico over at OurHonorDefend.com does a fantastic job breaking everything down and highlighting the most interesting bits.

At the end Vico talks a little bit about the recent stir concerning Ohio State ‘stealing’ Oregon’s signals in the Rose Bowl. Other folks have reported on this as well.

My … [Read More]
