This week, Ohio State faces a Purdue coach that’s undefeated* against them, and seeks to rebound from a horrible defensive showing at Indiana. So, yeah- our soundtrack is something that should be harped on, even if it seems a little paranoid.
We told you earlier that we were in process of coming up with some cool swag for the winners of our BBN Bracket Challenge, and now we’ve got enough that we can let you in on the awesome.
Our overall winner will get their choice of a shirt from the guys at Fresh Brewed Tees, their choice of Buckeye Flag from CVS Flags, a Cholula Hot Sauce Gift pack, some goodies from Fox Sports Ohio, and the opportunity to write a guest post here at tBBC. There may be a couple of things we’ll throw in here as well, but this is what we’ve got for now.
UPDATE: Since I posted this, we were given a $25 gift card for The Buckeye Room- they’ve also got a promo where all OSU fans can get 10-20% off on purchased during March- Use the promo code MADNESS2012 when you … [Read More]
As you do the research necessary to win this year’s BBN Bracket Challenge, we here at tBBC are previewing each region to give you just a bit of info on teams not named “Ohio State”. Here’s a gander at Bob Seger’s favorite part of the bracket.
Favorites: You can’t spell “Midwest” without “Meh”- While North Carolina is the top seed, you’ll have to drill all the way down to the #7 slot before you find a team that won it’s conference tournament, and that was an OT victory for St. Mary’s in the WCC final. Sure, Carolina won the ACC, but they couldn’t solve FSU more than once this season, and KU ended up behind Mizzou in what’s left of the Big Integer. There’s really no one who stands out, but there’s no one that looks to be mis-placed, either… You’ve got to think that Roy Williams will … [Read More]
March madness is finally here and with plenty to talk about. The South region is the home of the number one overall seed and could possibly be the home of a strange fact. The seventeen teams in the region (including the play in teams of Miss. Valley St. and Western Kentucky) have a combined record of 7 and 10 in their last game played. No seed ten and above won their last game and all seeds eleven and below won their conference championships. Yesterday, Joe D. broke down the West and Eric took a look at the East. Let’s get things going vertical with the breakdown of the south region.
Tonight the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament bracket was announced and Ohio State was not happy with the results. After finishing the season 25-6, tied for second in the Big Ten during the regular season, and ranked 16th in the country, the Buckeyes were shocked when it was announced that they would be an 8 seed. While the Buckeyes were 26th in the RPI and had suffered a late season skid, most expert had OSU slated as a 5 seed, personally I was expecting either a 4 or 5 seed. Instead the Buckeyes will face ninth seeded Florida in the first round with the winner facing the number one overall seed Baylor and its star center Britney Griner. The one bit of good news for the Buckeyes was that they would not have to travel far, getting sent to Bowling Green for the first weekend. Hopefully a large contingent of OSU … [Read More]
The madness continues here at the Buckeye Battle Cry! This has to be one of our favorite times of the year (really, who doesn’t feel that way?) and we love to celebrate by talking about as many teams, games, and players as we can! Joe Dexter was kind enough to get the whole thing kicked off this morning with a preview of the West Region. Now it’s my turn to take a look at the home-favorite East Region. Tomorrow, WVaBuckeye and MaliBuckeye will take a look at the two remaining regions, so that you can have plenty of time to read and peruse your way to what is hopefully a winning bracket!
Make sure you join the BBN’s Bracket Challenge this year! Bragging rights abound!
Favorites: The East region is graced with a few powerful teams that could be poised to make a deep run. The … [Read More]
March Madness is here! Coming up over the next two days, the staff here at tBBC will get you ready to fill out your brackets by evaluating each region in the field of 68. Coming up later today, Eric will take a look at the East bracket that features Ohio State as a #2 seed. WVaBuckeye will follow tomorrow with the South bracket with Kentucky and MaliBuckeye will wrap things up with a review of the Midwest bracket. Today, we take a look at what I believe is the most interesting region of the 2012 tournament. The West features 5 of the top 20 top scoring offenses, including three teams that average over 80 points per game. From top seeds, to cinderellas, to teams that could get upset in the first round — We have it all as we get ready for the best two weeks in sports all year … [Read More]
