I know QB recruiting is quite the hot topic right now, especially with Wimbush and Nunez off the board (it’s not over until signing day, wink…wink). I thought I would put 5 potential recruits on paper with highlights, and provide a small personal opinion write up on each recruit. Then, of course, I will try to predict who we get, and I will also give you who I like best. Well, no sense in wasting time, let’s get to it!
Gibson is a big, strong, athletic kid at 6’4, 195 lbs. When you watch his tape, you will see a very graceful young man when running with the ball. It’s easy to see why everyone wants this kid even knowing he is quarterback project. But, I see footwork, accuracy, and release issues (see lefty Pryor). Gibson is probably going to drag out his recruitment until signing day, and … [Read More]

Calling Chicken Little, Calling Chicken Little……
There is no cure for the avid Ohio State Football Fan who thinks they could help coach our beloved Buckeyes. It’s hard to be a passionate fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes without thinking your coach would do a better job if he’d just listen to you for once in his pathetic, misinformed life.
There is a product out there that reduces the urge to be a know-it-all. For us Ohio State fans, that product is URBAN MEYER!!! For us, it’s a passion that we enjoy! For Urban it’s his way of life and he is very good at it!
One of the biggest compliments you can give Meyer is that he makes it very hard for you NOT to pause and think in this world of second-guessing. He makes it easier … [Read More]
Well, the critics have spoken, and we’re excited to have Mike join us in the Tuesday Morning slot full time.
State of The Ohio State Football Recruiting and my reasons not to get your panties in an uproar:
I know when fans look at where we are with only two verbal commits for 2015, Jamel Dean and Eric Glover-Williams; they think it’s time to hit the “Panic Button”. Well, I look at it differently and what needs to be remembered are several items of note.
These are only verbal, non-binding promises. As seen with Ben Edwards’s verbal, things can change quickly with these young men. I know Edwards said he was committed 100 percent to Ohio State (don’t listen to what they say, watch what they do), but as with any young person making the biggest decision of their life up to this point, minds can … [Read More]
It’s still too early to know the exact numbers in the class, especially the numbers they would take at specific positions (and that is variable anyway) but I feel compelled to put together a list.
QB is pretty easy. They’d like to take two (in line with not taking any in ’16 to clear the way for Danny Clark in ’17) and their top targets are Wimbush and Torrance.
Wimbush is down to Penn State and Ohio State with the whole head/heart thing but it seems likely that Ohio State will win that battle- especially the longer it drags out.
Torrance is going to go down to signing day but Meyer has already worked his magic and is amongst the top schools without a visit. Getting him on campus is going to be huge and then we will … [Read More]
