tBBC loves to do round-tables and I in particular really enjoy the interaction that I have with fans and former Buckeyes who have helped out here. This round is no different, we welcome back my buddies from The Game in Columbus 95.5 and the guys from the new BIG show with Matt Finkes, and producer Adam Sabie. They can be heard weekday mornings from 9-12 and bring you some great co-hosts, and have a nice format for all.
I will be introducing you to a super fan in this round of questions in Michael Doty Sr. who is a U.S. Air Force veteran, a huge Buckeye fan and as many others do, put’s his family first. I had the privilege of meeting Sr. recently as he stopped in my area for lunch on his way to a party in Columbus called the Spring Game, which just happened to be his first time in #TheSHOE. Sr. does his homework and knows his Buckeyes, we welcome him to his first go around with us.
As usual, we have our own guys putting in their most important two-cents worth. I have included links in all of our participants names so you can follow them on that twitter thingy. Lets get started!
From the start of practices to the game Saturday, who stood out to you the most on Offense and why?
Matt Finkes - Brionte Dunn. Stronger more physical and has home run speed now.

Happy Wednesday, and happiest birthday to the young Buckeye in my avatar photo. Given all of the excitement here on the left coast over the past weekend, my choice for today’s soundtrack was pretty much decided for me. Thoughts and prayers go out to our friends in Chile and South/Central Americas as well…
Life is full of decisions. Sometime soon (Friday?) we’ll get the official word that LaQuinton Ross has decided to head to greener pastures… but until then, here’s the soundtrack for our midweek musings.
Sorry, Iowa and Tennessee- the tournament don’t get rolling until tomorrow, no matter what you told people yesterday. So, we’ve got one more day of work before distraction takes us all… it’s madness, I say!
Another week, another victim, and another round of wishes:
The Buckeyes return home from a successful Left Coast trip to play an FCS opponent out of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), the Rattlers of Florida A&M University (FAMU). The Buckeyes (3-0) are coming off an exciting, yet convincing, win over Cali-Berkeley (52-34), while the Rattlers (1-2) lost to Samford (27-20).
This is OSU’s last game before Conference play begins, so it will be a good opportunity to take care of a few loose ends. False starts and tackling techniques come to mind. Even though, to Jason’s chagrin, this is a noon start, the weather forecast is for low 70’s, cloudy and 30% chance of rain. This is no time to “go Cal” and not show up until well into the game. We’re fortunate to have a really good football team; be there to support them.
Ohio State on Offense
This will be a good game to get a couple quarterbacks some playing time before conference play; Braxton Miller and Cardale Jones. I think that Ken Guiton has proved his capability and reliability. Braxton probably needs some fine tuning after missing the last two games, and Cardale needs some ‘live fire’ experience, just in case.
Oh, and the Buckeyes get starting (last year, anyway) running back Carlos Hyde back, although how much playing time he gets is up in the air. I anticipate Dontre Wilson to get more involved with the offense, and possibly even some Ezekiel Elliot. However, the bulk of the non-Jordan Hall carries will be Hyde’s
FAMU’s defense is giving up 321 yards per game, good for 70th in the country if they were FBS. I think that pending too much experimentation on Urban’s part, OSU will find this defense a bit less challenging than last week. The bright spot for FAMU is that against Samford, they did come up with 2 pick-6’s.
A bit of a different version of WDYWTSOS, since we all want to see the same thing- Awesomeness and no injuries.
So, we’ve polled our staff of experts for their predictions on the following aspects for “Getting Down At Paul Brown”- let’s see how much everyone’s been paying attention to the Spring Practice Updates:
What player scores the first points of the game?
WVa: Braxton Miller will score first and it will be on a long run.
Ken: Devin Smith on a long pass play from The Brax
Jason: Rod Smith. My bet is they limit Hyde and with Brax wearing the black shirt his running is cut out.
Janelle: Devin Smith on a deep ball from Braxton
Eric: Might as well ask what your favorite color of M&M is based on the taste. I’ll go with Michael Thomas on a nice Brax pass.
Dexter: I’m going to go with Evan Spencer on a Bomb downfield from Braxton Miller. That is my favorite color M&M.
Charles: To be a bit different, I’ll go with Drew Basil
Mali: The obvious answer is Drew Basil.

After a weekend filled with excitement and disappointment, it’s a bit of a quiet mood at tBBC headquarters. We like baseball, and know that OSU sports are amazing even if not the “got to be on television” variety, but I’d be lying if I didn’t confess that there’s a bit of a let down these days. Ah well… only two songs possible for today’s soundtrack. Onward.
