Kettering Fairmont forward Makayla Waterman committed today to play basketball at Ohio State in the 2014-15 season. Waterman went to OSU to deliver the news in person to coach Kevin McGuff, who cannot comment on the commitment, per NCAA rules.
She is the co-outstanding player of the Division I state championship tournament and granddaughter of former OSU assistant men’s basketball coach Ben Waterman. The 6-foot-2 forward is the 30th-ranked recruit in the country by the ESPN website HoopGurlz and No. 26 in the Philadelphia-based Blue Star Report.
