The weekend was just another building block for Urban Meyer. There were 50+ recruits in town that got to see a great environment, the coaches and players at an all time high in terms of excitement, and how close knit the team is. In addition all the coaches and players showing respect for the seniors that will be leaving and the field littered with underclassmen making impacts all over the field. So lets just say that all recruits were excited, they had a great time, enjoyed the game atmosphere, got to see Urban Meyer’s championship rings, and loved how everyone felt like it was a family atmosphere.

Now that we got that out of the way way we can talk about the information that really matters:

At Home In The Scarlet And Gray
April showers of riches continue, as Ohio State picks up it’s second verbal commitment of the month and seventh overall this evening, with Toledo Central Catholic’s Jayme Thompson switching his commitment to the Buckeyes.
Thompson, who had initially given a verbal commitment to the Mountaineers of West Virginia, reopened his recruitment in March and was part of the recruiting festivities in Columbus this past weekend.
He was an early member of the WVU class, verballing the day after National Letter Of Intent Day to the staff in Morgantown.
A 6’2″ defensive back with a 32 inch vertical, Thompson is expected to be asked to play safety at Ohio State. He’s currently a three star recruit according to Scout and a four star according to Rivals.
Many observers believe that will increase over the coming season, but early commitments aren’t always conducive to increased recruiting rankings. He currently held offers from Nebraska, Illinois, Notre Dame, and Scout had him with offers from Michigan and Missouri as well.

The Urban Assault continues in the battle for the best recruits across the nation. While little brothers Illinois and Penn State believe they can join in on the hotbed race for Ohio prospects, Mark Dantonio and Urban Meyer continue to prove who the sheriffs are in The Heart of it All. Okay, Dantonio is really just the rogue cowboy picking up the wild strays of the state. Maybe Beckman and O’Brien will join his clan. Buckeye fans, don’t feel bad for three goons when they go home empty handed.
It’s better to go home with an empty cupboard, instead of grabbing for the day’s 33rd donut.
Brady Hoke can only dream about the state of Ohio. Daily, in his office, he slobbers all over his polo, dreaming about the great city of Athens. He wonders why the Bobcats wore scarlet jerseys when they came to Ann Arbor at the end of the season. He laughs like a madmen at the fact that the Michigan Spartans have to take on the new guy in the conference that everyone is talking about.
It is that guy that remains busy in the state of Ohio. Here’s a look at some of the latest news from the recruiting trail.
