Women’s Gymnastics

4/6 – No. Ohio State finished with a team score of 196. 50 to finish fourth at the NCAA Regional at St. John Arena.   Sarah Miller and Melanie Shaffer qualified for the NCAA Championships after Miller tied for first on balance beam and Shaffer finished fourth in the all-around.

Women’s Lacrosse

4/3 – Ohio State defeated San Diego State 19-11 as eight Buckeyes scored points. Kaila Gottlick and Katie Chase paced the Buckeyes with four goals a piece.

Softball

4/5-6 – Ohio State fell to No. 12 TSUN on Friday 5-1 despite outhitting the Wolverines over the last five innings. The Buckeyes finished with six hits, one of which belonged to junior Melissa Rennie, who claimed her 10th multi-hit game.  On Saturday, the Buckeyes again fell to the Wolverines 11-0 in five innings. Men’s Gymnastics

3/9 – No. 4 Ohio State defeated No. 15 UIC by a score of 439.200-409.050 on Saturday at St. John Arena. Six Buckeyes won individual event titles at the meet (floor exercise, pommel horse, rings, vault, and parallel & high bars.  Junior Michael Newberger won his fourth event title of the season on the pommel horse. Teammate Alex Johnson won his second consecutive title on the high bar.

Men’s Lacrosse

3/9 – No. 8/11 Ohio State was defeated by No. 7/7 Denver 10-9 on Saturday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.  At halftime, the Pioneers led 6-5, and then they took an 8-5 lead in the third quarter. In the fourth, Ohio State cut the Denver lead to 2 at 9-7 after a Charlie Schnider goal. Later on, they cut the lead to one at 10-9, but they were unable to score again to tie. Logan Schuss had 3 points for the Buckeyes while teammate & goalie Greg Dutton had nine saves.

Men’s Track & Field

3/9 – Buckeye senior Chris Fallon took sixth in the mile at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas. His time of 4:02.28 earned him a sixth place finish and First Team All-America Honors. Read More

Men’s Gymnastics

2/2 – Despite posting their overall highest score of the season, the No. 5 Buckeyes fell to No. 1 Penn State on Saturday by a score of 444.300-432.300.  Michael Newburger claimed the pommel horse title for the Buckeyes with a score of 15.400, a career-high.  Jake Martin claimed the high bar title for Ohio State with a score of 15.500.

Men’s Ice Hockey

2/1-2 – On Friday night, Ohio State scored 5 goals in the second period en route to defeating Notre Dame 6-3.  After the first period, the Irish led 1-o, but 3:12 into the second, the Buckeyes scored 3 goals in about two minutes to take a 3-1 lead.  Ohio State goalie Brady Hjelle had 29 saves in the game. On Saturday, Ohio State tied the Irish 2-2 in overtime.  Hjelle had a career-high 45 saves in the game.

Men’s Gymnastics

1/25 – No. 5 Ohio State placed second at the Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas on Friday with a score of 429.400.  They finished second behind No. 4 Oklahoma.  The Buckeyes won event titles in floor exercises and the vault.  They also had two individual titles as Danny Steiner won the floor exercises while John Laing won the pommel horse.

Men’s Ice Hockey

1/25-26 – The Buckeyes defeated Lake Superior State twice this weekend.  On Friday, they won 3-2 after goals by Riley Simpson, Curtis Gedig, and Tanner Fritz. Goalie Brady Hjelle had 34 saves for the Bucks. On Saturday, Ohio State won 6-1 against the Lakers.  The Buckeyes got points from 12 players and Hjelle had 30 saves in the game.
