And then, there were 18 for ’14.
Today, New Jersey four star receiver Noah Brown announced that he had verballed to Ohio State, choosing the Scarlet and Gray over the home Scarlet Knights of Rutgers. Our friend Jeremy Birmingham at Eleven Warriors had the announcement first.
Brown was a visitor this past weekend for Ohio State’s victory over San Diego State, and judging by his twitter feed he had a great visit. While he was expected to make his announcement later this week, the coaching staff is certainly excited to welcome him a few days early.
Brown is expected to play the “X” receiver role at Ohio State, although he plays defensive back and running back at Pope John XXIII High in Sparta New Jersey. At 6’2″ and over 200 pounds, it’s anticipated that he will meet Coach Meyer’s desire to have a receiver with good size on the field.
As mentioned, the other finalist for Brown’s services was Rutgers, but he also held offers from Michigan State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Nebraska, South Carolina and Southern Cal.
