If there’s one thing I have learned officiating two of DRIVEN’s events, it’s that the former Buckeyes involved are just as competitive now as they were when they played. A few are just recently removed from their playing days for the Scarlet and Gray and the others? Well, they all hail from the National Championship Buckeyes and a couple stole the show Friday night at Marysville High School

The night began with a dinner of fellowship with the former Buckeyes and their guests. Some of the players brought family with them and some just brought themselves. After the eating and hobnobbing finished, the emcee for the evening, Pastor Steve Rouch began a question and answer session with each player asking them all about where they went to high school and how they became a Buckeye;what it meant to be a Buckeye; what was their favorite memory, and why DRIVEN.

It’s that time of the year again… Football is back! On this week’s edition of The Buckeye Battle Cry Radio Hour, we’ve got plenty story lines, predictions and performances to talk about after Saturday’s annual Spring game, held at Paul Brown Stadium on Saturday for the first time in school history.

Helping us do so is the great Jeremy Birmingham of Eleven Warriors. Birm brings us his perspective from the game, as well as breaks down who he though had a solid showing in the game and what can be taken from the scrimmage.

It’s kind of a trick question, since ‘miracles’ usually imply divine intervention but the amazing truth is that many inspired and faithful people are looking to find ways to create daily miracles for those who live near the heart of Ohio. I have blown up twitter in the past weeks helping promote the DRIVEN Food Outreach that is taking place this Saturday in Columbus. The one part that really tugs at my heart is the fact that my stomach growls after missing just one meal and I can only imagine how those who miss meals for days at a time feel. I have considered making a pledge to not eating for a couple days so that I could really feel what hungry people feel.

As a child I experienced times where my single mother just couldn’t afford to put a nice meal on the table. Goulash and ketchup sandwiches were regulars at times and were welcome meals on days there just wasn’t anything else to eat. All of what I went through as a child pales in comparison to some of the issues the needy around Columbus are faced with. There are families that go days without eating … [Read More]

What a long and full day of excitement. Nothing will ever replace or beat my experiences in 2002(I don’t think), but this came very close to being as enjoyble.

There was so much happening after THE Game in 2002 that really the best part that I remember is being on the field with 100,000 screaming fans. I still look at the picture from time to time to play Where’s Waldo and find me. Yesterday will go down as the best day for THE Game because I got to spend it with some good friends and some awesome fans in my section.

Roy Hall has been gracious enough to write out his Top Ten dont’s for the best week in college football. It’s Ohio State versus TTUN hate week and Roy tells it like it is around the players headed into this game.

The Ohio State-M*chigan rivalry is the best rivalry ever! With that being said, there are certain things that you don’t do during Michigan week. Associating with yellow in any way is unacceptable! So here is a guide, my top 10 things not to do during M*chigan week.

DRIVEN Flag Football Game Benefits Spielman Fund

This past Saturday at Thomas Worthington High School in Columbus, The DRIVEN Foundation hosted it’s Flag Football game featuring former Buckeyes and benefiting the Stefanie Spielman Fund. Several former Buckeyes were participating as well as others representing The Columbus Christian Center Church who also sponsored the event.

The weather may have put a damper on the attendance, but it did not put a damper on the spirit of the event or those playing. The day started with Driven founder and President Roy Hall organizing everyone and getting them ready to play by leading them through warm-ups. He also took the time to have a pre-game get together in the locker-room with all of us to do a meet and greet and Pastor Davis Forbes led us in a wonderful prayer. Braxton Miller Injury Update

The game with Purdue yesterday was frustrating enough for Buckeye fans even before one of the scariest moment’s I have witnessed happened to a Buckeye player. With :21 seconds left in the third and after a 37 yard run by Miller, he was thrown to the ground by Josh Johnson and laid motionless for a period of time.

I wasn’t able to attend the game yesterday and perform my Usher duties due to officiating late Friday night, but I can tell you that you could hear a pin drop in the Horseshoe. After they got him off the field they proceeded to take him to the lockerroom on a cart and eventually to the hospital for tests.
