First, I hope that everyone had an enjoyable St. Paddy’s Day. Now, on to the game.

OSU began the game with good ball movement, being more selective and efficient with their shooting than in the previous game against Michigan State. Through the first eight minutes, OSU was up 13-8 lead fueled by 6-10 FGs, still no trey attempts. Much better movement through the paint, not settling for perimeter hoists. At the mid point of the 1st half, OSU led 13-10 then things went not-so-well. The Badgers went on  a 14-0 tear, abetted by poor OSU shooting. A Sam Thompson field goal ended a nearly 5 minute drought. Wisconsin’s offensive approach of positioning  players on perimeter for penetration, ball swing catch & shoots was seemingly working.

Again, a rather abbreviated preview since this is the 3^rd time the Buckeyes have played these guys and you get pretty much the same thing every game. The last we looked, the 14^th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes rolled Wisconsin 58-49 in Columbus. The Buckeyes are currently ranked 13^th, while the Badgers sit at 20^th. The previous meeting was an odd game in that:

• Wisconsin had the distinction of not attempting a free throw. Not one.

• Wisconsin’s offense was also out of proportion with their 3-pt attempts. Typically, 3′s account for 38% of their FG attempts, that night it was 54%. They started hoisting them as they got off the bus and did not waver.

The 14th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes host the unranked, but always tough, Wisconsin Badgers Tuesday. At 5-2, both teams are tied for 4th in the conference a half game behind MSU and a full game behind Indiana and Michigan.
